Choir Club



This is a club that offers an opportunity for students to express themselves through a well known art i.e. music. They are able to widen the range of their passion in light of performing this art. The choir club takes part in competitions such as The Kenya National Music Festivals. This is an annual competition that involves schools from all around Kenya. The choir through its good performance has been able to scoop some awards for the school and also gained it some more recognition other than academics.

Apart from that, the choir joins efforts with the school’s drama club to organize the annual Christmas concert in the school to set in the spirit of Christmas.

As a club other activities like the choir hike is held at the end of every school year. Here the choir members get to relax in a place or park of their choice to have fun and recount the year’s achievements. The clubs also attend performances by the Sterling Quality and the Kenya Boys Choir, just to mention a few.

The club also offers a place for those who take music as a subject to apply practically the skills acquired in the classroom. This make sure that they get enough practice in the subject hence are able to offer a better performance in their final exam.

With the support of its patron Mrs. Sumba the club satisfies the passion of those who love music and makes them grow in muvh more than meets the eye.

Choir  and Chorals for the year 2010, achieved success par excellence. This culminated in their participation at the National Music Festival which was held in Kakamega in the first and second week of August 2010.

On Wednesday 11th. August 2010 the Choir and the Choral had the privilege of travelling to Kakamega for the Kenya National Music Festivals. We had 18 pieces that proceeded from the Provincial level. All our performances were staged between the 12th. and the 14th. August. 

The choral group  won the most competitive of the English Choral Verse (The Set-Piece). The Choir emerged top three in most of the pieces presented and in addition it scooped the trophy of the Negro Spiritual with song "Joshua".

As a result of this outstanding performance, the group was awarded the Challenge trophy. This achievement was a marked improvement from that of yesteryears.
